Private Residence Weekend House, Dutchess County, NY
Groundbreaking is about to begin on this 3,600 Square Foot weekend home located on a 120 acre site in Dutchess County, New York. Alan Gaynor + Co. developed the Contract Bid documents based on the custom design prepared by Architect Tony Corkill of Shanghai, China. Design features include:

  • The one-story structure is designed as a series on glass-enclosed ‘Pods’ housing the Kitchen/Dining, Living and Bedroom Wings, which capitalize on the views of the 2-acre lake and surrounding rural landscape.
  • The Wings are linked by a Loggia, which runs along the inland side of the building.
  • The ‘Minimalist’ design concept incorporates: polished concrete floors with Radiant Heating system; exposed steel structure, arched metal roofing system, and floor-to-ceiling glass perimeter walls.
  • Extensive detailing and coordination to conceal the mechanical infrastructure systems (electrical supply, central air conditioning, etc.) within the limited cavity space available as a result of the ‘exposed’ structure dwelling design.
